School Law Online Graduate Certificate
A 12-Credit Online Graduate Certificate Program for K-12 Public School Administrators and Educators
In the field of public education, there are a vast array of state and federal laws that influence the work of teachers and administrators. Understanding legal provisions can help you and your students avoid instances that can violate the rights of all parties involved. Yet, with the pace of today's technology driven world, it's challenging for even the most informed educators to stay current with all the intricacies of school law.
A 12-Credit Online Graduate Certificate Focused on School Law
If you feel you need to update your knowledge—or round out your understanding of legal issues and how they can impact your day-to-day responsibilities—you've come to the right place.
The University of Connecticut's (UConn) School Law Online Graduate Certificate is designed for superintendents, principals, staff administrators, teachers, special education faculty, policy makers, school board members, or anyone else involved with the day-to-day operations of a public school. This four course, 12-credit asynchronous program cuts through the legalese to help new and experienced educators and administrators understand the dimensions of K-12 education, providing the appropriate knowledge to help you effectively handle many of the legal challenges that commonly occur in our public school systems. Upon program completion, you will be able to:
- Apply your knowledge of school law to resolve school conflicts
- Identify ways in which your school is out of legal compliance, and take steps to bring it into compliance
